1981

Inspired by vertical machines for glass and embracing the needs of small stoneworking workshops, Marmo Meccanica designs and manufactures the first vertical edge polishing machine for stone. The world of the stone industry was about to change forever.

The beginnings

The machine was an immediate success. Polishing flat edges and beveling were finally possible in smaller spaces and at a more affordable price. The rest of the stone machinery world was still skeptical, but would soon change its mind.

Early ’90s

The LCV was gradually improved in terms of technical solutions, becoming the acclaimed machine it is today. Skeptical competitors began to reconsider and create their own vertical edge polishing machines inspired by Marmo Meccanica’s LCV.

Late ’90s – 2000s

Customization became the conceptual heart of the LCV. From the basic model, various families of models and numerous customizations emerged, such as the LCV-Magnum, the LCV M-SE-SU, the LCV M-V/O, up to the new LCV-TF and LCV-ST, each with its own unique functionalities and specializations.
